Servant Leadership & Life for Teens - Costa Rica

The Journey

Servant Leadership & Life for Teens is designed to give you child a meaningful experience in a wonderful environment. Our model is to show your student how to engage with others in a positive and purposeful way, while traveling in a friendly and stunning location. They will adventure, serve, and learn what it means to have a sustainable life, through sustainable farms. They will learn how to grown team building skills with others, without ever saying a word!  The life skills learned will also be taught in the evening time to include: Public Speaking skills, Thriving Budgets, Dress & Text for Success – to name a few.

On adventure days we will have team time of zip-lining and the Mystico Hanging bridges. We will enjoy the most amazing food, and nice lodging, so that your student experiences what it could look like to engage in meaningful project no matter where they travel in the future.  What a wonderful way to instill a serving heart along with travel and purpose!

Community engagement projects will be chosen and designed for your student based on their interests. If they love the arts, music, or cooking, each of those skills will be explored more as we Journey though the week.

Joining a Service Journey  to Costa Rica will change the way you see yourself, others, and those in another country. While we travel and serve through Costa Rica you can also enjoy the stunning countryside, food and friends. Learn about environmental responsibility from local tribesmen as you then plant native trees on the island before heading back to the village. Hike the active Arenal Volcano and relax in hot springs. You can develop cross-cultural and communication skills by interacting with shopkeepers and service partners.

Escuela Santa Teresa Norte

Santa Teresa Norte is a school partner located in a rural community, with 15 students. During our time there we will be engaged in a variety of projects you can choose from. Are you artistically inclined? Love music? Or sports? Each project is built around your desire to serve in a way that supports learning, education, relationships and community strategies. Ask for more details on how we design class trips to support this and other community partners.

Hacienda Rio Cote

The Hacienda Rio Coté Project (HRC) was established in 2007 to restore and protect rainforest land adjacent to the Rio Coté National Protected Areas in Costa Rica.

HRC’s mission is to reforest and preserve land that is contiguous with existing protected areas of the Rio Coté National Forest and in effect increase the size of a pristine rainforest environment. HRC’s goal is to maintain and extend natural biodiversity, preserve watersheds, reduce erosion and river degradation, protect animal and insect habitats, and preserve the primordial beauty of the tropical rain forests for future generations.

Children's Eternal Rainforest

Costa Rica’s largest private reserve and a hotspot for biodiversity, ecotourism, bird watching, and hiking trails. The Bosque Eterno de los Niños (BEN) was founded by donations from children in 44 countries, and is run by a nonprofit conservation organization, the Monteverde Conservation League. Visit the Bajo del Tigre Reserve for an amazing contrast to the nearby cloud forest at Monteverde, or stay overnight at our field stations: San Gerardo and Pocosol.  Our projects support the local community and efforts of CER.

Lodging is determined by the final number, however we have the Lodge and private hotels for each location. We will be in Nuevo Arenal and Monteverde. We do not do home-stays. All rooms are nice, clean, have linens and towels and are perfect for student groups with main areas to sit/talk.

Our 27 passenger bus partners will accompany us on each Journey and stay with the team the entire week. Air conditioned, insured, and fabulous.
