Quebec City ~ Ursuline Academy

The Journey

**** REGISTRATION CLOSED***** Please contact connect@led2serve.org if you have any questions!

This class trip for Ursuline Academy will be like no other! Quebec City, also known as Ville de Québec in French, is the capital city of Canada’s Quebec province. Its 2016 population of 531,902 makes it Quebec’s second most populous city (Montreal is the largest) and the eleventh most populous city in Canada. The city is known for its location on the Saint Lawrence River as well as its historic Old Quebec which features fortified city walls. These walls are the only ones left in northern North America and as such, they were made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 under the name Historic District of Old Quebec.

We will engage in a meaningful community service project where we travel, to follow in the tradition of our mission, to serve others as we make a global impact!

Quebec City, like most of the province of Quebec, is a predominantly French-speaking city. It is also known for its architecture, European feel, and various annual festivals. One of the most popular is the Winter Carnival which has skiing, ice sculptures, and an ice castle.

During this Journey we will visit/explore:

The Quebec Winter Carnival

Citadelle of Quebec

Cathedral-Basilica of Notre-Dame de Quebec

The Plains of Abraham

The Ursuline Monastery (and engage in a meaningful service project)!

Citadelle of Quebec – The Citadelle of Quebec, also known as La Citadelle, is an active military installation and the secondary official residence of both the Canadian monarch and the Governor General of Canada.

Cathedral-Basilica of Notre Dame de Quebec – is the primatial church of Canada and the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Quebec, the oldest in the Americas north of the Spanish colonies in Florida and New Mexico.
