During this week, high school students will adventure, serve and play in a beautiful region of Costa Rica! They will engage in meaningful service projects with our established partners in a few communities of Guanacaste. This team will also enjoy time for adventures while seeing the sights in this wonderful country. Your Journey will be filled with Service Learning objectives, as we feast on local cuisine, have comfortable and community-based accommodations, and experience a true sense of the way life is in Costa Rica!
All transportation and itinerary details are pre-arranged for the team. We arrange flights and in-country private buses, all meals, serve projects, team time, and fun adventures. This week will be filled with activities to engage in and also provide time on their own.
If there is a class or course being imbedded into this Journey, our leader will work alongside teachers and faculty to ensure that the serving components match your expected learning outcomes.
As Costa Rican experts, we customize every detail of every Journey to fit your size class, learning outcomes, adventure times, and more! Please complete a REQUEST HERE for a customized quote and itinerary based on the size of your class.
If ever you could make an incredible impact on both your students, local communities and the environment, this is it! Study the lifespan of plants or animals in this fun, foreign adventure. Kayak from mainland to island for a lesson in reforestation efforts. Learn about environmental responsibility from local tribesmen as you then plant native trees on the island before heading back to the village. Hike the active Arenal Volcano and relax in hot springs. You can develop cross-cultural and communication skills by interacting with shopkeepers and service partners.
Discover the beauty of the Spanish language through a cultural immersion experience! Your students will increase their global competence by staying in a foreign country. Each day they will develop cross-cultural and communication skills by interacting with locals. Activities could include hosting an English language camp, playing soccer with the local school children, and practicing problem-solving skills through everyday encounters.
This Journey is ideal for teachers and students who wish to experience the beauty of a foreign land and a foreign language.

The Hacienda Rio Coté Project (HRC) was established in 2007 to restore and protect rainforest land adjacent to the Rio Coté National Protected Areas in Costa Rica.
HRC’s mission is to reforest and preserve land that is contiguous with existing protected areas of the Rio Coté National Forest and in effect increase the size of a pristine rainforest environment. HRC’s goal is to maintain and extend natural biodiversity, preserve watersheds, reduce erosion and river degradation, protect animal and insect habitats, and preserve the primordial beauty of the tropical rain forests for future generations.
Located in the northern region of Tilaran, Guanacaste, near the Nicaraguan border, Tierras Morenas is a classic farming village. The nearby wind farm is one of the few modern technologies to reach this quaint community, where the people are friendly and welcoming. In Tierras Morenas we assist in however your class is needed in this timeless village, whether it’s helping to teach English at the school, creating a sports program for the kids, painting a mural or building a playground.
